摘　　要：美国学者哈瑞·刘易斯在其专著《失去灵魂的卓越》中,阐述了哈佛大学在追求卓越过程中迷失教育宗旨的种种现象:分数膨胀、课程改革流于形式、课堂教学质量下降、道德教育被忽视、宿舍教育与学生辅导被冷落等。启示中国教育应坚持立德树人的方向,德育为首,质量至上。American scholar Harry R. Lewis discusses in his book Excellence Without a Soul＇that Harvard has lost its educational mis- sion in the pursuit of excellence. The manifestations include grade inflation, formalized course reform, declining teaching quality, neg- lected moral education, unheeded dormitory education and student guidance. As enlightenment, Chinese education should adhere to the direction of moral education, which is in the foremost position, and lay emphasis on quality.
