摘　　要：上海译文出版社出版的《新英汉词典》世纪版是对原《新英汉词典》的全面修订、补充和更新。通过对两部词典的词目编排方式、版式、装帧、前后页材料以及词条内部的标音法、释义、例证、语法和语用信息等方面的对比,用丰富而又具体的实例,说明新版在内容、形式上均有显著改进,具有鲜明的时代特色,对其疏漏也作了一些分析。The century edition“A New English-Chinese Dictionary”by Shanghai Translation Publishing House has completely revised, supplemented and updated the original one. By the comparing both of them in content arrangement, format, bookbinding, material and phonetic symbols, paraphrases, examples, grammars, pragmatic information and so on, the conclusion has been made by the means of rich and specific examples that the new version has greatly improved the content and form with distinct time characteristic. In addition, this paper has done some analysis on its omission.
