摘　　要：红学研究者大多对香菱的悲惨命运充满了同情,并盛赞其"少女的善良、纯真"。有的学者还得出了"香菱爱薛蟠"的结论。其实,香菱身上的"善良、纯真"就其本质上来说是一种奴性的温顺,而她对薛蟠的"爱"则是奴隶对主子的依附。Most of the scholars studying ＂the story of stone＂ show the full sympathy for Xiang Ling＇s tragic fate, and praise her goodness and purity. Some scholars have also come to the conclusion ＂Xiang Ling loved Xue Pan. ＂ In fact, the nature of Xiang Ling＇s goodness and purity is a kind of servility on the gentle, her love to Xue Pan is deoendent to the master.
