南非和美国眼中的曼德拉——祖马和奥巴马悼词的态度资源对比分析

摘　　要：评价理论关注表达人际意义的语篇语义资源,它是系统功能语言学对人际意义研究的发展与完善。文章尝试运用评价理论对奥巴马与祖马的悼词进行解读,通过对比研究其中的态度资源来分析南非与美国对曼德拉评价的异同。分析得出,情感资源占该类语篇态度资源的一半以上,鉴别资源略高于判定资源。美国与南非都歌颂了曼德拉对自由民主做出的里程碑式的贡献以及致以深深缅怀与无限悲痛之情,同时他们也有不同的侧重点。The appraisal theory concerns the discourse and semantic resources which express the interpersonal meaning, and it is the development and improvement of the interpersonal meaning in the systemic functional linguistics. This paper attempted to evaluate Obama ’s and Zuma’s memorial speeches by the appraisal theory and analyze the similarities and differences of evaluation towards Mandela between South Africans and Americans. It concluded that the affect resources occupied more than a half of the attitude resources, and the appreciation resources slightly exceeded the judgment resources. Both South Africans and Americans praised the landmark contribution to freedom and democracy by Mandela and expressed the deepest grief and sorrow while they had different priorities.
