摘　　要：按照国家西部开发战略规划,西部开发的核心是城镇化建设,城镇化建设指标是衡量社会经济发展的重要依据。近年来,国家对旅游业的发展越来越重视,旅游业已经成为国民经济支柱产业,也是构建现代服务业的基础。本文基于西部城市旅游业发展视角,对旅游业促进西部城镇化建设的作用进行了深入分析,根据城市旅游业发展的模式和条件,从经济效应、社会效应和环境效应3个方面对旅游业促进西部城镇化建设进行研究,最后以昆明市为例,提出了城市旅游业推动西部城镇化建设发展的策略。According to the national western development strategy plan, the key part of the western development is urbanization, which becomes an important index for social economic development. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the development of tourism iridustry. It has become a pillar industry in the national economy and the foundation for modern service industry. This essay aims to make an in-depth analysis of tourism in promoting western urbanization, with a view of the development of tourism in western cities. The research of tourism in promoting western urbaniza- tion has been made from three aspects of economic effect, social and environmental effects based on the mode and conditions of the city tourism development. In the end, Kunming was taken as an exam- ple to explain the development strategy of the city tourism in promoting the western urbanization.
