摘 要:在五四新文化运动中,陈独秀将改变青年人格形象,塑造"新青年"作为救国和建设新社会的当务之急。他认为"新青年"应是一个平等的、理性自主的、意志自由的、有德性的、富有情感的主体,其人格应在自我实现和社会实现中完善,在价值取向上应将实利和重道结合起来,在人生态度上应取进取精神。"新青年"人格理想虽也是真善美和知情意的统一,但已将对人格的独立和自由的追求放在主导地位,开始超越传统人格说中理想人格就是对道德人格的追求,向着人格之真和自由之境迈进。因此,"新青年"人格观具有现代意义上的科学人格观的特征,标志着中国现代人格观的诞生。During the May Fourth New Culture Movement, Chen Du- xiu regarded the transformation of the youth's peronality images and the cultivation of the New Youth as the highest priority of saving the country and establishing a new society. He considered that the New Youth should be a kind of subject who is equal, rational, independent, free - will, moral and emotional. Their personalities ought to be improved both in self - realization and social realization, their values orientation should be combining materialism with moralism, as well as a spirit of aggressiveness in their attitude to life. Although their ideal of personality was the unity of the Truth, the Goodness, the Beauty and the Cognition, the Feelings, the Volition, the pursuit of personality independence and freedom had been put in the dominant position. They began to transcend the thought in traditional concept of personality which was ideal personality' s pursuits to moral personality and even towards the truth of personality and the realm of freedom. Therefore, the personality of the New Youth was characterized by the scientific conception of personality to a modern extent and was marked as the birth of Chinese modem personality.
