摘　　要：该文对我国南方传统集镇中一类看似简单却是最具活力的空间——"檐下空间"进行了探讨与研究。文章从交通、商业、生活、生产四个方面阐述了其在空间功能上的多样性,从营业与非营业时间描述其在时间上的多义性;并从空间的非对称性与界面的模糊性的角度探讨了檐下物质空间的"非物质化",指出檐下空间的"灰"色特征引起了街道空间与商铺空间"非对称"流动,同时也营造了传统集镇多义的生活场景和承载着传统集镇丰富多样的社会内涵和意义。This paper aims at exploring the ＂under-eaves space＂, a kind of simple but dynamic space located in the traditional market towns of southern China. By introducing its diversity in transportation, commerce, living and producing, describing its polymorphism in time from business and non-business hours, and exploring its dematerialization of ＂under-eave space＂ from space-asymmetry and intertace-polymorphism, the study indicates that the ＂gray＂ of under-eave space not only result in a asymmetry mobility between street spaces and retail spaces, but also create a ambiguous-life scene, as well as carry a diverse social significance of traditional market town.
