Objective It is to explore the effect of severe neonatal hyperbilirubinemia on the growth and development of in- fants. Methods 60 cases of infants with severe hyperbilirubinemia were selected as observation group, 60 cases of healthy in- fants were selected as control group at the same time. All the infants were followed up for 1.5 years. The differences in intelli- gence, height, weight and behavioral neurological assessment of the infants between the two groups were compared (P 〈 0. 05 ). Results The intelligence, height, weight and behavioral neurological assessment of the infants in control group were all significantly better than that of the infants in observation group. Conclusion Severe neonatal hyperbilirubinemia will influence the growth and development of intelligence, height, weight and behavioral neurological assessment of the infants, so we should pay more attention to this disease, and do best to find and treat it as early as possible, thus to reduce the damage to infants.
