摘　　要：传统网络图像数据库的检索操作 ,通常是客户端直接将待检索的图像通过网络传输给图像数据库所在的服务器端进行各种匹配操作 ,这很容易造成网络的拥挤和对检索请求较大的响应延迟 .作者提出一种不同的图像数据库检索方法 ,这种方法能够在不增加服务器端计算负担的同时极大地降低对传输带宽的需求 。The retrieving process through network in traditional graphics database commonly demands the client to send the whole image, which is used as a retrieving standard, to the server where the graphics database exists for further process. This scheme will easily cause the network traffic congestion and long response time. A different method is set forth here, which can reduce the transmission bandwidth required and shorten the response time while keeping the computing overhead of the server as usual.
