摘　　要：伍德认为以美国为首的资本帝国主义依靠自身强大的政治、经济、文化和军事实力将资本主义民主推向全球,谋求世界霸权。民主在资本帝国主义谋求世界霸权的过程中充当着意识形态的功能。由于资本帝国主义内部经济与政治领域的分离,导致经济民主和政治民主被割裂,无法实现民主的真实内容。资本帝国主义正是在民主的虚化和阶级统治的强化的分裂中推行其经济强制,实现资本的积累和增值,扩大资本流动的空间。资本帝国主义背离民主的原则,假借民主进行侵略,发动无限战争,最终在内在矛盾无法调和下走向解体。伍德的阐述有助于理解资本帝国主义的本质和特点,对中国的民主政治建设具有重要的理论和现实意义。Ellen Meiksins Wood thinks that USA as the representative of the capital imperialist push capitalist democracy to globally relying on its own strong political,economic,cultural and military power,to seek hegemony in the world. Democracy is as a function of ideology in the process of capital imperialism seeking hegemony in the world.Because the separation of economic field and political field in the internal of capital imperialism leads to economic democracy and political democracy fragmented,the real content of democracy cannot be realized.Capital imperialism pursuing its economic coercion in the division of democracy is weakened and class rule is intensified,realizing the accumulation and value added of capital,expanding the capital flowing space.Capital imperialism is deviated from the principles of democracy,launching the Infinite War under the guise of democratic aggression,eventually in the inner contradiction can not be reconciled to the disintegration.Wood’s exposition helps to understand the essence and characteristics of capital imperialism.It has important theoretical and practical significance for the construction of democratic politics in China.
