摘 要:作为英美文学史上的巨匠之一,艾略特不仅在文学创作方面造诣非凡,而且在文学评论方面也颇有建树。艾略特通过大量用典、戏仿、戏剧独白等写作方式,使其作品与自己所倡导的“诗人应与传统相一致”的理论观点相吻合,但他的作品却不可避免地显露出个人的生活经历背离了他本人所提出的“非个性化”、“客观对应物”等文学理论。本文拟通过分析艾略特的代表作《普鲁夫洛克的情歌》以及《荒原》等深入探讨他的诗歌与他的文学创作原则的离合。T. S. Eliot, one of the masters of British and American literature, is outstanding not only in the realm of literary creation but in the field of the literary criticism as well. On one hand, with the employment of allusions, parodies and monologue, his works are in accordance with the proposal of his literary theory: "the individual talent should be consistent with the tradition". On the other hand, the repeated appearance of his personal life in his works inevitably violates the literary items he puts forward, such as "the impersonal theory" and "objective correlative theory". This paper intends to investigate T. S. Eliot' s conformity to and his violence against his own literary principles through analyzing his representative masterpieces The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufroek and The Waste Land.
