摘　　要：阐述网络监控在网络管理中的重要性，讨论ＲＭＯＮ在交换式网络中的限制，并对ＳＭＯＮ在局域网中监控的解决方案作了相应的研究．Beginning with the importance of network monitor in network management this paper dicusses the limitations of RMON in a switched environment. Then a study of SMON for a mothering solution in LAN is given.
