摘　　要：本文立足于武汉地区的现实经济金融状况，客观地分析了本地金融业面临入世的机遇和挑战，指出武汉作为中部地区的特大中心城市，在应对 WTO的目标定位和战略选择上应该从本地区实际出发，而不能盲目攀比沿海发达地区。金融业应纳入地方应对策略的整体来通盘考虑，在基本消除本地区的突出金融风险后，面对 WTO，本地金融业正处于既要稳健经营又须积极开拓的阶段。This paper objectively analyze the would－ be chance and challenge at the entry to WTO depending on its present economic and financial situation of Wuhan.As a huge city located in middle China, Wuhan should determine its target and make strategy choice on the basis of its situations rather than run after the coastal regions.With the local financial crisis gradually eliminated, local financial industry is at the stage of seeking either sound operation or positive expansion.
