摘　　要：报道了英国开放大学 (OpenUniversity)地球科学系PhilipJohnPotts博士来华学术交流活动 ;重点介绍了Potts博士讲座的三个主题———地质分析技术发展和前景 ,便携式X射线荧光 (PXRF)在环境分析中的应用 ,国际地球化学分析实验室熟练度测试计划 (Geo-PT)的成果与进展。In this paper, academic exchange activities during the visit of Dr. Philip J Potts from department of earth sciences,Open University,UK,in the National Research Center of Geoanalysis (NRCGA) were reported. In his visiting, lectures were presented by Dr. Potts with three topics: ① a historical review of developments in geoanalytical techniques:trends for the future;② use of portable X ray fluorescence analysis for contamination studies of lead in soil and aesenic at an abandoned industrial site;③ Geo-PT——the international proficiency testing programme for analytical geochemistry laboratories:progress and achievements.
