摘　　要：一、引言众所周知,DSS 的含义是利用数据和模型来支持中高级管理决策人员解决半结构或非结构化问题的计算机信息系统。然而实际情况并非如此,绝大多数个人 DSS 支持的是专业人员或中层管理人员,而组织型 DSS 主要支持计划人员、分析人员和研究人员。调查表明,几乎很少有为大公司总经理、联合企业董事长之类头衔的高级执行人员(Ex-ecutives)直接使用的 DSS。针对这种情况,Most existing DSS users are professionals or middle managers.Very seldom do these systems directly support top executives.Why does this happen?What are the needs of top managers?What is needed in information systems to make them more appropriate for the upper managerial levels?For answering these pro- blems,this article introduces a new type of management support system—Exec- utives Information System,discusses its concepts,characteristics,configurations of hardware and softwale,methods for development and implementation and other relevant problems.
