摘　　要：数学符号是人们对于客观事物运动规律的最直观、最简明的表达方式 ,是交流与传播数学思想的媒介 ,是唯一完全国际化的数学语言。数学符号的作用在于对数学的发展产生了巨大的影响 ;引申出了新的分支 ;导致了新兴科学的诞生 ;数学的一切进步都是对引入符号的反映。经过了千百年形成的数学符号是人类智慧发展的产物 ,也必将随着科学的发展不断地丰富和完善。The mathematical symbols are the most visual and most concise means by which people represent the movement laws of objective things, are the media for the exchange and propagation of mathematical ideas, and the exclusive full\|internationalized mathematical languages. The roles of mathematical symbols lie in their considerable influences on the development of mathematics and on the extension of new branches, thus leading to the emergence of new sciences. All the progresses in mathematics reflect the introduction of mathematical symbols. The mathematical symbols formed in the long process of thousands of years are the outcome of the development of the intelligence and wisdom of mankind and inevitably continue to be enriched and improved along with the development of science.
