摘　　要：随着替代型材料的发展 ,在新千年里皮革工业将面临严峻的挑战。在系统回顾制革化学及工艺技术的基础上 ,对未来皮革工业的发展进行了分析和预测 ,对一些亟待解决的问题提出了解决办法。此外 ,还从经济、环境和市场等角度为制革行业提出良好建议。With the development of the alternative materials, leather industry will face serious challenges in the new millennium. In this paper, on the basis of systematic revisit of tanning chemistry and technology, the analyses and forecast of the future leather industry were presented and the solutions to the problems were proposed. Meanwhile, good suggestions were given to leather sector in consideration of economy, environment and market.
