摘  要:设计并合成了一类新型的双[(4-n-烷氧基苯基)乙炔基]汞液晶,其相变行为通过DSC及偏光显微镜进行了测试及观察。该类化合物表现出很好的液晶行为。Metallomesogens are liquid crystalline materials with potential applications in optical devices The synthesis of new mesogenic species, with different ligands, metals or molecule geometries ,is currently under way Metal containing compounds which exhibit thermotropic mesomorphism can be either coordination or organometallic complexes The former species are widespread and mesogenic complexes of several transition metals are known, however, the latter one reported up to now are only mercury, palladium or platium derivatives Although the first series of organomercury complexes liquid crystals were found by Vorlander in 1923, only few papers were published by now, and only one of them showed the phase behaviour clearly For further study the phase behaviour of the organomercury complexes liquid crystals, a novel series of bis[(4 alkoxyphenyl)enthynyl] mercury complexes were synthesized The mesomorphism were studied by DSC and polarizing textural observation The eight compounds are all liquid crystals And with the lengthening of the tails SmA phase is formed favourably They exhibit not only classical nematic phase textures clearly, but also a broad focal conic texture of SmA smectic phase From the relationship between the transition temperature and carbon number, the usual odd even effects were found Furthermore, the liquid crystalline phase range increases with n from 4 to 10, but it shows a little decrease when n=12
