摘　　要：对于中国历史上的人口增长，学术界一直存在着不同的认识。本文从总量变化和增长率变化两个方面重新考察中国历史人口的变化过程，得出稳定人口的结论。然后，从稳定人口的角度对中国历史人口增长和人口循环作出新的解释。While common recognition has not yet been reached with respect to the historical population growth in China, this paper re-examines historical demography of China focusing on changes in population size and growth rates,leading to a conclusion of the stable population in historical China and new explanations to historical population growth and population cycle in China.
