摘　　要：本文在对“鬼”字本义及引申义的考察过程中，对中国古代的鬼魂崇拜及其文化影响进行了探究，认为崇拜鬼魂、畏惧鬼魂影响了先民大部分的生活形态，直至今天其影响力仍未消除。This article, in the examination of the original and extended meaning of the word 'ghost (鬼)', probes the worship of spirits and its cultural influence in ancient China and holds that the cultural echoes of the worship and dread of spirits reigned over most part of the ancestors' life patterns and still has its vitality today.
