摘　　要：近代中国的保险业滥觞于洋务运动中 ,而获得实质性的发展是在 192 7年以后。纵观整个民国时期的人寿保险业经历了一个曲折而畸型的发展过程 ,但最终以消亡而告终。The insurance trade in modern China originated in her Westernization Movement and its substantial development was after 1927. A general survey of the life insurance trade in the period of the Republic of China indicates that it experienced a lopsided development with twists and turns and ended up with its withering away.
