摘　　要：章记述了上海苏州河滨水居住的历史变迁，探讨了在新一轮滨水居住开发过程中亟待引起注意的四个方面的问题：时代感和历史感；新建和改建；高度和尺度；密度和空地。This paper reviews the history of the living on the suzhou River water front and discusses the problems inevitably noticed in new residential development in the following issues;sense of the era and history;new con- struction and renewal,height and scaIe as well as density and open space.
