Synthesis and Mesomorphic Properties of Novel Mesogens Containing Semifluorinated Terminal Chains

摘  要:设计并合成了4个系列含3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6-八氟己氧基或6-氯-3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6-八氟己氧基边链的联苯甲酸酯类或二苯乙炔类液晶,其相变性质通过偏光显微镜和DSC进行了测量和观察,讨论了桥键和末端原子对液晶性的影响。发现末端一个原子就对液晶性有很大的影响,末端原子对液晶相的稳定性有利的顺序为氟>氯>氢;末端一个氢原子对中介相尤其是近晶C相的稳定性破坏很大。Four series of three-ring mesogens with 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6-octofluorohexoxy or 6- chloro-3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6-octofluorohexoxy terminal chains containing tolane or biphenyl were synthesized. Their mesomorphic properties were observed and measured by optical po- larizing microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), respectively. Influences of bridge bonds and terminal end atoms on mesomorphie properties were discussed. The results show that only one terminal end atom has a greatly influence on mesomorphic properties, the order in favor of the mesomorphic properties is: fluorine, chlorine and hydrogen. A terminal end hydrogen atom will greatly damage mesomorphic properties, especially smectic C phase.
