摘　　要：CORC是 OCLC这一世界上最大的计算机联机图书馆中心的第二代联机编目系统 ,它为网络信息资源的有序组织、适度控制及高效检索提供一条有效的途径。本文根据笔者在国外对 CORC系统的了解及试用的经验体会 ,介绍了该系统的由来、运作方式、主要数据库组成、性能、主要特点等。最后 ,对我国网络信息资源合作编目提出了一些看法 。CORC (Cooperative Online Resource Catalog) is OCLC's next generation of cataloging service, providing an effective way to create descriptive records for electronic resources and options to assist librarians in providing their users with enhanced access to Web resources. The author introduces the CORC system and its cataloging utility, main features, databases, and other options. Based on the author's experience of using CORC in the United States, the author provides suggestions for improving the sharing of cooperatively cataloged Web resources in China.
