摘　　要：分析了两个中国最早的试验性中外合资国际饭店——北京建国饭店和长城饭店。将国际饭店视为改革开放初期的中国在理念与实践上预料之外却意义重大的中间媒介、交流基地。一方面有助于满足对经济改革至关重要的新经济及功能需求;另一方面,将一种新的建筑思考和建设模式融入当时主导的理论和实践,同时也带来了部分争议。This paper explores two of China's first joint venture projects:the Jianguo Hotel and the Great Wall Hotel. This research positions the hotel as an important if unpredictable site of intermediacy and exchange in early reform-era China,both in physical and conceptual terms. On one hand,the hotel facilitated the fulfillment of new economic and programmatic needs considered crucial to economic reform.At the same time,however,reconciling new modes of architectural thinking and production with prevailing socialist theory and practice through and within the hotel was controversial and destabilizing.
