摘　　要：《造城者》是美国知名城市政治学学者苏珊·费恩斯坦的学术代表作。作为本书的中文版译者,作者介绍了本书的写作背景、内容、主要贡献、后续影响,回顾了费恩斯坦的学术生涯,比较了第一版(1994年)和第二版(2001年)的差异,分析了这种差异的原因所在,并对本书所存在的争议和对当代中国城市的启示提出了个人观点。This paper introduces one of Susan Fainstein's most notable works,The City Builder, on its background,content,major contribution, and lasting influence.It is followed by tracing Feinstein's academic life course.The difference between the first version in 1994and the second version in 2001 is especially highlighted,then the controversy about the book and its inspirations are discussed in the end.
