摘  要:"助祭"利奥的作品《历史》是关于拜占庭帝国10世纪下半叶扩张时代历史的重要原始史料。书中提及的地震、洪水、彗星、日食等灾异,不仅是对自然现象的描述,更被赋予了强烈的宗教意涵。其中天文奇观具有预兆警示作用,自然灾害则是上帝惩戒人类的手段,两者之间存在因果联系。利奥对灾害异象的关注与解读既是出于对基督复临等宗教观念的笃信,也是对古典时期命定论的部分继承与改造,更是对帝国上层惨烈政争的不满与批判。基督教观念、古典传统、社会现实三者交织在一起,构成了利奥进行历史书写的主要原因。The History by Leo the Deacon is an important original historical material on the history of the expansion of the Byzantine Empire in the second half of the 10 th Century. In this book,Leo recorded earthquakes,floods,comets,eclipses,etc.His account was not only a description of natural phenomena,but gave a strong religious connotation. Among them,astronomical wonders have the function of warning omens,and natural disasters are God’s means to punish mankind. There was causal connection between them. Leo’s attention and interpretation of catastrophes and anomalies based on religious beliefs such as the Second Advent of Christ,was also the partial inheritance and transformation of fatalism in the Classical period,and even meant discontent and criticism of the destructive political struggle in the upper echelon of the Empire. Christian concept,classical tradition and social reality were intertwined,and thus constituted the main reasons of Leo the Deacon’s historiography.
