摘　　要：采用平面直角坐标系找出产出力和影响力等几个重要指标之间的关系 ,认为影响因子是相对数 ,单纯讲影响因子越大 ,期刊学术影响力就越大是欠全面的。To improve the quality of sci tech periodicals, it is essential that editors have a strong sense of applying quantitative analyses in their work. The author points out, by means of plane right angle coordinate system, the inter relationships between the important indecators such as the total number of the papers published and the number of papers ever cited by other authors, that the role of impact factor of a journal is something relative and that simply stressing on the significance of impact factor has its limitations. It is therefore suggested that great efforts should be made to increase the number of times or the frequency of journals' citations.
