The development, natures and application of the multipoint vertical probe in France SOLLAC BF are introduced in detail, in addition to the design principle, structure, material and application of the thermal flow meter in Germany Bremen Steel and the eletromotive force measurement method for liquid level of hot metal and slag in the blast furnace hearth developed by German Thyssen Krupp Steel. The proposals for BF long life are posed on the basis of the fact of Angang.
