Objective To explore the valuation of transcranial doppler (TCD) and determination of cerebral blood flow in diagnosis and stages analysis of hypertension Methods We used TCD to detect middle cerebral artery (MCA), anterior cerebral artery (ACA), and posterior cerebral artery (PCA) of 126 patients with hypertension, measured the mean velocity (Vm) of blood flow The data obtained from this study was analyzed with statistical method Results Compared with the control group, the Vm values of cerebral blood arteries had no significant difference in the patients with relatively short course of diseases and relatively young in the hypertension stage Ⅰ group The Vm values of cerebral blood arteries markedly quicken in the hypertension stage Ⅱ group The Vm values of cerebral blood arteries were markedly slower in the patients with relatively long course of diseases and relatively old in the hypertension stage Ⅲ group Conclusion Changing in measure values of TCD provided an important assistant index in diagnoses and stages analysis of hypertension
