摘　　要：莎士比亚早期悲剧《罗密欧与朱丽叶》取材于意大利短篇小说,关键处作了微妙的重大改动,扩大加深了戏剧冲突并提高了悲剧主人公形象,凸显出人文主义的悲剧主题。本文附带比较了莎剧与越剧"梁祝"之异同。Though Shakespeare＇s early tragedy Romeo and Juliet was based on an Italian short story,he made a subtle and major change at the crucial point that enhanced the dramatic conflicts and the tragic characters to highlight the tragic theme of humanism. This paper also made a comparative study between Romeo and Juliet and the Shaoxing opera Butterfly Lovers.
