摘 要:中国是最早发明和应用纸的国度,传统文学的专擅形式则是诗,纸与诗是我们引为自豪的"国粹"。简帛时代延续几千年,造成了我国上古时代文化领域狭窄、流传缓慢和著述形态的封闭单一。纸之出现与广泛应用标志着中国文化步入中古,成就了魏晋这一历史上第一个文学文本创作的黄金时代。中古之前"诗""歌"一体,纯文字诗很少;魏晋纸之应用普及后,诗歌从实际的歌唱变为纸上的文字,其节奏韵律与文字意义之主从关系发生倒转,文学性逐步确立,诗的意境逐渐产生。总之,晋宋之后诗之变革,关涉审美内质与形式声韵。这一系列变化是纸之应用改变了诗歌传情的物质媒介的结果,亦可见物质生产对精神生产的决定作用。Papermaking is one of the four great inventions in ancient China;the most influential genre of Chinese literature is poetry;and paper and poetry are therefore both our "national quintessence" of which the Chinese people are proud. The pe- riod people use the tablets of bamboo or pieces of silk had lasted several thousand years before paper was created, when the instantaneous exchange of emotion had to be oral,and that is why the way of verbal expression used to be oral songs,but not textual poetry;meanwhile, owing to the heaviness and inconvenience of the media, the written texts were only used for conveying the diachronic tradition,not suitable for special circulation. The invention of paper and its wide usage made the Chinese culture step into the Middle Ancient Time and hence led to the boom of textual literature in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. Thereafter, poetry changed its form from oral to written texts,which in turn led to the changes in the importance of the literary nature and the poetic ambience of poetry. The revolution of poetry relevant to the aesthetic nature and the formal rhyme was hence the result by using the material media of paper, demonstrating the influence of the material upon the spirit.
