摘　　要：首先阐述了第四代港口的特点及概念,并针对厦门港面临的机遇和挑战,分析了其发展建设第四代港口的优势所在;并从集装箱运输能力、基础设施建设、服务功能、经济腹地等多方面论述了其存在问题及改进的建议。Firstly the concept and features of fourth-generation port is indicated, then the advantages of Xiamen Port is analyzed in the situation of Xiamen Port facing both opportunities and challenges, which can be made good use of for developing and constructing fourth-generation port. Finally the existing problems and suggestions are discussed from the aspects of container transport capability, infrastructure construction, service functions and economic hinterland of Xiamen Port.
