摘　　要：图书馆消亡论的前提是将技术作为图书馆的本质,并将图书馆的全部意义仅归于纸质图书、图书馆员和图书馆建筑,信息网络技术是取代它们的核心力量。然而,从图书馆在人类历史中所扮演的角色以及与人类发展的紧密关系来看,它的本质是人文而非技术。作为人文部门,图书馆有其自身的不同于技术的特性和发展模式,技术是图书馆发展的重要工具而非统治力量。图书馆需要经常进行实体检查和审慎反思,以确保自身的人文本质得到发挥,避免沦为技术的附庸。The premise of library demise made technology as the nature of library and attributed significance of library fully to paper books, librarians and library building which would be replaced by information network technology as core strength.However, from the roles of library in the history of mankind as well as the close relationship between library and human development, the essence of li-brary is humanity rather than technology.As one of humanity departments, library has its own characteristics and mode of development different with technology.Technology is the important tool for library development rather than ruling power.Library needs regular entity examination and careful reflection in order to ensure play its own human nature and avoid becoming a vassal of technology.
