摘　　要：纵览国内诸多陶瓷专业文章，不少专家对“china”这个单词的表述是：英文中“瓷器”和“中国”为同一单词China。Porcelain was first invented by the Chinese in the world.However,what are the differences between pottery and porcelain ?Up to now,some countries have different explanations and definitions.Based on the raw materials,bodies,water absorption,glaze,firing curves and compared with different products,including wall and floor tiles,dinner sets,sanitary ware,porcelain products and so on,the writer tries to discuss this matter together with colleagues and friends as well as experts and scholars,,through which we shall get a better definition to be related with Pottery and Porcelain in the near future.
