摘 要:敦煌石窟西夏洞窟中的释迦八相图共有三例,即榆林窟第3窟南壁西侧上方、五个庙第1窟中心柱正面以及东千佛洞第5窟北壁。本文以印度贵霜、笈多、波罗王朝遗存的释迦八相造像为研究对象,细致入微地分析了公元2世纪以来的印度四相图和八相图的表现形式及其流变。通过对敦煌西夏洞窟中释迦八相图的图像解读,认为这一题材的佛教壁画在内容和表现形式上有可能受到了中印度佛教的影响。There are three examples of Sakyamuni's Eight Great Events illustrated in three Western Xia caves: in Cave 3 (on the south wall) at the Yulin Grottoes, in Cave 1 (on the front side of the central pillar) at the Five-Temple Grottoes, and in Cave 5 (on the north wall) at the Eastern Thousand-Buddha Grottoes. Focusing on Buddhist artwork about Sakyamuni' s Eight Great Events in the Kushan, Gupta, and Pala dynasties, this paper discusses in detail the form and development of the illustration of the Four Great Events and Eight Great Events in India. An interpretation of the illustrations of the Eight Great Events of Sakyamuni found at Dunhuang suggests this Buddhist mural theme might have been influenced by the Buddhism of middle India in both content and form.
