摘　　要：汉斯·布姆斯是德国著名的档案学家,提出了社会分析与职能鉴定理论。该理论的提出具有极高的合理性,也存在一定的局限性。合理性一方面源自于布姆斯的成长背景,另一方面也源于理论自身严谨的哲学思想。局限性则表现为对非政府文件的职能鉴定认识不够深入、鉴定成本较高、用编年史回顾时代背景的方法有待商榷三个方面。档案工作者在鉴定时要结合实际情况,有效地运用社会分析与职能鉴定方法。Hans Booms is a well-known archivists in German, who put forward the theory of societal analysis and function appraisal. The proposed theory is highly reasonable, and also has certain limitations. The reasonability is derived from the growth background of Booms, on one hand, on the other hand, it stems from the rigorous philosophy from the theory itself. The limitations perform as follows： shallow under- standing for non-official material, high cost for appraisal, and questionable method to review time back- ground. Archivists should consider actual situation when appraise archives, and apply the method of society analysis and function appraisal effectively.
