自我的恪守与流俗的抗拒——论《达荷美人》中男性气概的真实性原则

摘　　要：在分析当代著名非裔美国作家弗兰克·耶比代表作《达荷美人》中纳瑟努这一男性人物形象时,我们发现,该作所书写的男性气概模式打破了西方文化和社会在男性气概认知、建构与实践方面重刚轻柔、重外在轻内在、重流俗轻自我、重王道轻人道等二元等级秩序,体现了相当的人性高度和人道主义精神。而纳瑟努之所以能够做到这一点,正是因为他在认知、建构与实践男性气概过程中秉承了一种"真实性"原则,坚持了对自我与良知的恪守与对性别流俗观念的抗拒。结合莱昂内尔·特里林和查理斯·泰勒等学者的"真实性"理论,本文将对该作书写的这种男性气概的思想内涵及其背后的行为逻辑进行深入分析。While analyzing the male protagnist Nyasanu in Frank Yerby＇ s masterpiece The Dahomean, we find that the model of masculinity written in this novel has broken such hierachical orders which prefer hardness to tenderness, external to internal, externality to internality, stereotypes to selfhood, and hegemony to humanity in western culture and society, and demonstrated considerable humanistic concern and humanism. One reason why Nyasanu could do this is that he practices an ＂authenticity＂ principle, committed to his selfhood and conscience and defying against the prevalent gender stereotypes. In light of Lionel Trilling and Charles Taylor＇ s theory of authenticity, this paper undertakes an in-depth analysis of the masculinity ideology in the novel and the behavioral logic behind it.
