The microstructure and size distribution of water-in-oil (W/O) particles in microemulsified diesel (MED) containing different mass fractions of water were measured by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and nano-laser particle size analyzer (NLPSA). The combustion-explosion performances of MED containing different mass fractions of water were measured by the sustainable combustion performance analyzer for liquid fuel and instrument of evaluating the explosion properties for liquid fuel. The results showed that the distribution of W/O particle size became wider and the distribution uniformity was getting worse with the increase of water mass fraction in MED. The optimum water mass fraction in MED was10%, at which the average particl obtained, and the MED could not pressure could be reduced by 14.3 e size of 25 nm and good distribution uniformity in MED was burn sustainably after electric arc ignition and the explosive after chemicals detonating. It is proved that the MED with designed microstructure was a preferred safe fuel with the obvious reduction of combustion tendency.
