摘　　要：15世纪至18世纪早期,是英国城市现代化的准备阶段。作为古代英国的政治中心——温切斯特,在中世纪,经济达到繁荣鼎盛。之后,温切斯特开始走向长期的衰落。但是,在英国内战之后,温切斯特充分利用自身的优势,大力发展零售业等行业。直到18世纪早期,温切斯特完成经济转型:从一个工业中心城市转变为一个具有社会中心功能的城市。它在经济转型过程中明显体现出三个方向特点:商业化、开放化和专门化。As the ancient British political center -Winchester, its economy was in prosperity during the middle ages .After that, Winchester began to decline over a long period of time.However, After English Civil War, Winchester developed service industry and other sectors by making full use of its advantages .Until the early eighteenth century , Winchester completed the economic transforma-tion： from an industrial center to a city belonging to a social center.In its process, it embodied three characteristics： commercializa-tion, opening, specialization.
