摘　　要：随着多媒体技术的广泛应用,图像压缩界呼唤一种新的国际标准,以满足用户对更高压缩效率和对压缩图像的互动性和可伸缩性的要求,JPEG2000就是在这种背景下应用而生的。重点讨论了JPEG2000的产生背景,JPEG的主要优缺点以及JPEG2000的主要特点和优点。With the wide application of multimedium, image compression field appeal to a new national stand- ard to satisfy the requirement which the user demand for the more accurate efficiency , the elasticity and the mutual function to image compression. So JPEG has been emerge. This paper discuss the background of JPEG2000,the main advantage and shortcoming of JPEG, and it introduce the primary characteristic and ex- cellence of JPEG2000.
