摘　　要：西方现代体育的发展历经农业社会作为教育、生存和娱乐手段的体育到工业革命时期作为有限时空闲暇方式、利益、价值和机会的体育,再到信息时代以发展多元化、管理科学化、提高全民参与率为核心的体育等几个发展阶段。经历了由玩具到工具,再由工具到玩具的悄然转变。西方现代体育内含闲暇、娱乐、运动、竞技、教育、锻炼、民生和强健等丰富的元素,为我国体育发展方式的转变提供了有益的启示、参考和借鉴。The development of western modern sports experienced the following stages：in agricultural society, it acted as the means of education, living and recreation; during the period of industrial revolution, it acted as the means of leisure, in- terest, value and opportunity;in information era, its core focused on diversification, scientific management, and improve- ment in participation rate. It experienced the transformation from toy to tool, and then tool to toy. Western modern sports include rich elements of leisure, entertainment, athletics, education, training, well-being and health. Above all, the evolution route of western sports provides beneficial inspiration and reference for the transformation of sports development mode in China.
