摘　　要：There are more than speakers, and 20 500 million Spanish Spanisti-sp＇eaking Countries, in the world, and the Spani：shspeaking countries form a big ＂family＂ says lnma Gonzalez Puy, director of the Beijingbased Cervantes Institute. And, she adds, an increasing number of Chinese people are. realizing the value of Spanish. as a Second foreign language. During a recent interview with Women of China English Monthly, Gonzalez Puy expressed hope the Cervantes Institute Will help advance academic and cultura! exchanges between China andthe Spanish-speaking： countries.全世界有20多个西班牙语国家，约五亿人口讲西班牙语。北京塞万提斯学院的院长易玛·孔萨雷斯·布依常说，西班牙语国家就像是一个“大家庭”。自学院2006年成立至今，易玛欣喜地看到，越来越多的中国人开始认识到西班牙语作为第二外语的重要价值，而她也一直致力于通过学院的平台，推动中国和西班牙语国家之间的文化和学术交流。
