In addition to quarks, there are intermediate gauge bosons and gluons for mediating the electroweak and strong force, respectively. The heavy-flavor physics consisting of the charm c, bottom b, and top t quarks has been studied from heavy mesons and baryons whose properties are mainly determined by the c and b quarks in the bound state, such as B mesons and D mesons in the heavy-flavor factories (B factory and charm factory).
