摘 要:艾略特不仅在文学创作方面造诣非凡,而且在文学评论方面也颇有建树。诚然,艾略特通过大量用典、戏仿、戏剧独白等写作方式,使作品与自己所倡导的"诗人应与传统相一致"的理论相吻合,然而他的作品不可避免地显露出个人的生活经历,背离了他本人所提出的"非个性化"、"客观对应物"等理论。本文拟通过分析艾略特的代表作《普鲁夫洛克的情歌》以及《荒原》等深入探讨他的诗歌创作与他的文学主张的离合。T. S. Eliot, one of the masters of British and American literature, is outstanding not only in the realm of literature creation but of the literary critique. With skillful employment of allusions, parodies and monologue, his works are in accordance with his literary principle "Tradition and the Individual Talent". however,the repeated appearance of his personal life in his works inevitably violates the literary items he puts forward,such as "Impersonal Theory" and "Objective Correlative". This paper intends to investigate his conformity to and his violence against his own literary principles through analyzing his representative masterpieces The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock and The Waste Land.
