摘　　要：辛亥革命前,受不同时期特定历史背景影响,汉阳铁厂的改良、扩充活动呈现出较为明显的阶段性特征。1904—1907年间,改良是铁厂发展的主要特点,主要目标是改善钢铁产品质量,降低生产成本,提高炼铁炉产出率;1908—1911年为铁厂的扩充阶段,主要目标是扩大产能,增加产品产量。Before the Revolution of 1911, influenced by the particular historical background in different peri- ods, the improvement and expansion activities of Hanyang Iron Works showed the obvious phased features. From 1904 to 1907, Iron Works was characterized by improvement, with the main goal of enhancing the quality of steel products, reducing the production cost, and increasing the blooming furnace productivity. From 1908 to 1911, Hanyang Iron Works was engaged in expansion, with the main goal of expanding capaci- ty and increaing production.
