Objective To study the influence of emotion of puerperal women separated from their newborns on prolactin (PRL) and breast-feeding rate, so as to explore specific early interventions. Methods 192 puerperal women separated from their newborns were selected as the observation group, and 176 rooming-in puerpera were selected as the control group.SCL-90 was used to score the emotion of puerperal women in both groups. Moreover, their prolactin levels were detected, and lactation and breast-feeding rate were observed. Results Compared with those of the control group, SCL-90 scores of the observation group significantly increased(P〈0. 01).With the emergence of negative emotions,PRL levels in the observation group deereased, the starting time of lactation prolonged, amount of milk and late breast feeding rate decreased, so the differences were statistically significant (P〈0. 01 ).Conclusion Negative emotions of puerperal women caused by maternal separation can influence PRL level.Paying attention to the emotion change of puerperal women separated from newborns and taking active nursing interventions timely can promote and insure the health of both mothers and infants who separate from each other.
