摘　　要：以美国著名私立大学西北大学为例,通过大量的调研、访谈和数据分析,从科技管理理念、科技管理体系、科研组织模式、科研人员聘任考核等方面,分析西北大学的科技管理模式及其运行机制,以此透析美国研究型大学科技管理的特征,并对我国研究型大学科研管理体制机制改革与创新提出建议.It analyzed the scientific and technological management system and the operation mechanism of scientific re- search in American famous private university -- Northwestern University to illustrate the characteristics of the scientific and technological management in American research universities. The research was conducted on the basis of the review of previous research, interviews with professors and data analysis, involving the scientific and technological management principle, the scientific and technological management system, the operation mechanism of scientific research, appointment and appraisals. Accordingly, the suggestions were proposed on the reform and innovation of scientific and techno- logical management system and mechanism in research universities in China.
