摘　　要：礼貌是社会成员自觉遵守的共同规约,也是维护和谐人际关系的交际策略。然而英汉两种语言在礼貌表达上也存在差别,使得跨文化交际过程中频繁出现语用失误,影响交际的顺利进行。本文以语用学的礼貌理论为基础,通过对比研究英汉礼貌用语,揭示其语用差异,以期为跨文化交际提供指导。Politeness is a common stipulation for social members to follow and a communicative strategy to maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships. However, there are some pragmatic failures in the process of intercultural commmunications due to the differences on polite expressions of English and Chinese languages, which affect a smooth communication. This paper based on the theory of politeness of pragmatics indicates the pragmatic differences by contrastive analysis on English and Chinese polite languages to provide instructions on intercultural communications.
