摘　　要：弗兰克·奥康纳是20世纪爱尔兰著名短篇小说家,儿童题材在其近200篇短篇小说中占有相当大的比例。以奥康纳儿童题材的短篇小说为文本,分析此类作品中呈现的儿童形象,即充满童真的"母亲的孩子"和心灵孤独的"私生子",试图挖掘作品深刻的文化和社会内涵,深入了解爱尔兰普通民众的生存状态。Frank O＇Connor is a very famous Irish short story writer in the 20th century. A large number of his almost 200 short stories take children as the major characters. Based on this kind of stories, the children images, which are innocent ＂mother＇s boy＂ and lonely ＂illegitimate children＂, are analyzed. The profound cultural and social connotation is unearthed in order to have a further understanding of the living conditions of common people in Ireland.
